Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) pioneer moovel (sic) will be showcasing the latest products to  help cities with mobility is at this year’s Smart City Expo World Congress, which is being held in Barcelona from November 13 to 15.

The Smart City Expo World Congress says it wants to strengthen cities with a unique platform focusing on sustainable and future-oriented urban development. As a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, moovel offers cities and transit authorities the opportunity to boost access to mobility and thus make it more attractive with a tailored mobility app.

With its on-demand ride-sharing technology developed in-house, moovel also provides a complement to public transportation in the city, which can be used as an additional support especially in the evening hours.

Since October 2018 in Los Angeles, app-based shared rides in Mercedes-Benz vehicles based on moovel on-demand technology have been available in the city center.

Another innovation from Daimler’s wholly-owned mobility subsidiary is the digital marketplace, which was launched in Berlin in September and is now part of the product portfolio. The most important feature of moovel is new Software-as-a-Service with a flexible modeling of payment flows, which is particularly crucial for intermodal journeys.

The state-of-the-art solution is designed to help cities and transit authorities develop into MaaS providers. Another part of the moovel trade fair stand will be the presentation of the Fare Connect solution, a pilot project developed by moovel North America. Fare Connect combines the performance of moovel’s proven mobile-ticketing software with the speed and simplicity of contactless technology, thereby further simplifying access to mobility.

The moovel Group is present in German cities such as Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Karlsruhe with its mobility solutions. In the U.S., moovel North America is the leading provider of mobile-ticketing applications for transit authorities. Moovel products are now used by 5.9 million people

“We have worked closely together with cities for many years.
